Drink Kale?!? This to me does not sound appealing……green smoothies, healthy shakes, whatever you call it too me – a shamrock shake it does not make.
First thing I will tell you – get a really good blender. I tried to used mine (I call it my Margarita Mixer) and although it does the job on summer evenings and Margarita Mondays for green drinks it did not work well.
My “Smoothy” was more of a “Slimey” or a “Chunky”. It turned out more like a really liquidy but drinkable salad. I tried to use my hand blender which I use to puree soups and baby food. That worked better I guess… My “shake” was a little more blended – it still had confetti sized bits of Kale in it. Call me crazy but I don’t want to chew my drinks.
For me, my best bet was going to a juice bar and getting one made for me. I did try one with dates and almond milk and some sort of nut butter. It was pretty tasty if you can get past the fact that it looked like sludge. Oh yeah, and that you were drinking Kale…..
